Mission Statement

Our Mission: Preserving History, Igniting Wonder
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Phoenician Ship Museum is dedicated to honoring one of humanity’s greatest maritime achievements through education, research, and hands-on engagement.
Upon arrival in Utah, the 40-ton Phoenicia—carefully disassembled for preservation—will be lovingly restored and reassembled by volunteers to serve as the centerpiece of an interactive museum. Visitors can step aboard, explore archaeological exhibits, experiment with ancient boat-building, chart historic trade routes, and engage with our research archives. These resources remain intentionally neutral, inviting scholars, families, and curious minds from every background to explore their own connections—whether to Mediterranean trade, global exploration, or personal discovery.
We stand proudly independent and inclusive, welcoming all seekers of truth. Through programs that foster dialogue and bridge divides, we celebrate the boundless potential of early seafaring. In Utah, we will draw global visitors, strengthen community pride, and cultivate a lasting legacy of learning that inspires future generations to sail into the unknown.
